DRAWINGS
STILIZED DRAWINGS with lines, strokes and shading that allow shapes to be interpreted.
My drawings mainly show Nuremberg forests and portraits of friends. My favorite technique is drawing with charcoal. It is particularly suitable for large formats, which can nevertheless be realized relatively quickly. It resembles painting with a large brush dipped in black dust. Drawing with charcoal allows a very subtle use of chiaroscuro tensions. Shading is achieved with a dabbing-rubbing finger or a vibrating-wiping brush. That’s why I love using this technique and love rubbing a light veil of gray into the drawing paper as a background with my bare hand.
